AFB Overberg 21st Anniversary in the Overberg

On 23 May 2008 members of Air Force Base Overberg (TFDC) celebrated 21 years in the Overberg.

This prestigious evening, coordinated through planning and preparation by the committee was a resounding success.
The glamorous ball took place at the Base in a Marques tent. A great deal of hard work went into the arrangements to make this evening possible, and it paid off handsomely in the end.

The venue was enough to take one’s breath away and complemented the ladies who were dressed to perfection to match their men.

The goal of the evening was to reunite old friends and colleagues, whilst keeping the upliftment of morale in mind. The ball was also seen as a unique opportunity to establish healthy partnerships between the Air Force and civilian stakeholders.

Throughout the evening guests were captivated and entertained by the Mr Liebie Louw and his guest artists.

After the Master of Ceremonies, Lt Col E. van Blerk, who was specially flown in for this event, gave a welcoming message and the Officer Commanding Col T. Cross, gave a short speech, the guests enjoyed a superb five-course dinner. Couples took to the dance floor to flaunt their abilities and enjoyed every moment of it.
The presence of members from the Air Force Command council enhanced the occasion.

Months of planning and had work finally came to a very successful end when the last guests left in the early morning hours of the following day.
