Colonel A.M. Grundling.

ABRIDGED CURRICULUM VITAE OF COL A.M. GRUNDLING, DIRECTOR SYSTEMS INTEGRITY

Col Grundling was born on 29 December 1959 in Pietersburg (Polokwane). He completed both his primary and secondary school education at respectively Pietersburg South Primary and Pietersburg High School. 

Prior to joining the South African Air Force, he completed both an apprenticeship at Atlas Aircraft Corporation as well as a National Higher Diploma for Technicians (T4) at Pretoria Technicon. 

He joined the South African Air Force in July 1983 as a tradesman/technician at 1 Air Depot. He completed courses in basic educational technology and as from January 1986, gave instruction at the SAAF School for Logistics training.

He completed the Masters Diploma in Technology (T5) at Pretoria Technicon in 1987.

From January 1989 he worked as an engineering technician/technologist at Air Logistics Command from where he was seconded as installation officer responsible for the SAAF DC3s to C47-TPs conversions.

In 1992, he obtained the degree in flight test engineering from the National Test Pilot School (Majave, California).

He joined the SAAF Test Flight and Development Centre in Bredasdorp as a Test Flight Engineer in January 1993, where he participated in various programs on both fixed and rotary winged aircraft.

In 1999, he completed a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch.

In April 2002, he became the Senior Staff Officer Air Certification at Air Command.

Col Grundling was appointed as Director System Integrity with effect from 1 September 2007.

Col Grundling is married to Petro.
